ADAM CVIJANOVIC - Represented by Bellwether

With a recent installation in the stairwell at UCLA’s Hammer Museum, Adam Cvijanovic’s specialty is room-size wall murals. Cvijanovic paints his large scale murals with acrylic and house paint on Tyvek (the Dupont unrippable fiber used for FedEx envelopes). His works are hung using a clay-based adhesive, which makes them endlessly re-installable. In 10 Minutes After the End of Gravity, the mural he will present at VOLTA, Adam has envisioned what the west coast city, known for movie stars and sunshine, would look like just moments after gravity has failed. Adam Cvijanovic has been exhibiting in New York since 1985. Recent exhibitions include “Hammer Projects” at the UCLA Hammer Museum (2005), “Ideal City” at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, (2004) “On the Wall: Wallpaper and Tableau,” at the Fabric Workshop and Museum, Philadelphia, PA (2003) and “Yard,” at the Socrates Sculpture Park in New York (2003). Adam’s next solo show at Bellwether will be in September 2005.
