AUGUSTA ATLA - PERFORMANCE

12:30 and 3:00 p.m., BOOTH C10

In Booth C10 Gallery SPECTA from Copenhagen presents two performances by Danish artist Augusta Atla who studied at Goldsmith’s. Performance, icons, drawings, painting, sculpture, photography, studies, instruments, theory, poetry and mappings constitute the medias of Atla’s works, all works to encircle on the presence of the body.

To Atla the division between “Working” and “The Artwork” is not distinct and such line will always be blurred; she further does not distinguish between the artwork and her own life, since the actual making of the artwork essentially takes origin in Existence. With this approach she opens the definitions of the art-object and its relationship to the audience.

KATRIN KORFMANN - BOOK LAUNCH

2:00 p.m., BOOTH C17

Katrin Korfmann, is a visual artist based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Korfmann works with different media, mainly photography and art in public space, with a main focus on people in urban settings. Based on a concept of photography, her works are comparable to a moment of déjà vu. In her creative discourse she deals with the issues of posing versus acting, observing versus being the object of another's attention.

In Booth C17 ZAUM Projects from Lisbon presents the new monograph about their solo artist KATRIN KORFMANN (128 pages, 230x320mm, full color, published by d´jonge Hond), which shows her work, major exhibitions and public projects from 2007 until today, accompanied by critical texts by Tina Rahimy, Nicole Löser and Rogerio Taveira.

LIVE VIDEO STREAMING PERFORMANCE

4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., OUTSIDE DREISPITZHALLE

CELESTIAL HOPSCOTCH by Franck Ancel

At the Universal Exposition of Paris in 1900, Loïe Fuller danced under the flag of its electricity pavilion. Ancel offers the chance for everyone to design their own virtual Pavilion, to "dance" on the ground of world cities, a hopscotch grid already present on five continents where the land becomes zero and the sky infinite. The Celestial Hopscotch grid will be drawn outside of Volta parallel to the International Art Fair in Basel, Switzerland. Another was drawn in Paris on May 19 in rue de l'Exposition (Exposition Street). The last Celestial Hopscotch grid will be drawn before the Marathon of Shanghai is run just before the closing of the 2010 World's Fair, as part of the <<Global Poetic System>> project.

The Celestial Hopscotch will be streamed at 6:00 p.m. on aether9.org in partnership with Dock18.
