Sun Yao

Born in 1974

 

He studied at China Academy of Art for his B.A. & Art College, Shanghai University for his M.A., both in Painting. He is currently doing his Doctor’s Degree in Painting at China Academy of Art. 

 

SUN Yao, in recent years, has been focus on exploring the relationship between reality which one notices & reality which one realizes. SUN Yao believes that in this information technology era, we are so used to equalizing the reality of nature to some kind of virtual reality generated by certain visual media. We no longer desire for the meaning of what is true to us or how we feel for it. Truth, quickly makes visual information code simplified. Just like news reports, it is not necessary for readers to guess what behind what’s written or the connection in-between paragraphs.  It seems we are surrounded by visual code and turning to be lost.
