Nandipha Mntambo

Mntambo is included on the travelling exhibition Black Womanhood: Images, icons, and ideologies of the African body at the San Diego Museum of Art, San Diego, CA (31 January - 26 April 2009); Beauty and Pleasure in South African Contemporary Art at the Stenersen Museum, Oslo (5 February - 10 May); an exhibition of works from the 2008 Dak'art biennale at ifa gallery, Berlin (2 April - 21 June), travelling to Stuttgart in September; and Number Two: Fragile at the Julia Stoschek Collection, Düsseldorf, until Autumn 2009. Other eecent group exhibitions include Olvida Quien Soy - Erase me from who I am at the Centro Atlantico de Arte Moderno in Las Palmas (2007); Apartheid: The South African Mirror at the Centre de Cultura Contemporania de Barcelona (2008); and .za: giovane arte dal Sudafrica, Palazzo delle Papesse, Siena (2008). Mntambo's second solo exhibition at Michael Stevenson opened on April 16. She lives and works in Cape Town.
