The artist Kim Suyoung paints apartment buildings and high rise offices with their reflections of other buildings. Because of the unique composition, colors and mirroring effect the buildings are not so much concrete edifices but rather signs of a more conceptual nature.
The works become almost like abstract paintings of lines and planes providing a unique viewing experience exploring this space between the concrete and the abstract. Kim is a graduate of the Seoul National University Fine Art Program (Painting) and received her Masters at the Kunstakademie Dusseldorf studying under Professor Siegfriend Anzinger and Professor Daniel Buren. She also completed study at the Hochschule fur Bildende Kunste Braunschweig studying under Professor Norbert Tadeutz.
