 Born 1964 in Lopburi, Thailand
Kamin Lertchaiprasert , one of the top avant-garde Thai artists, has several solo and group exhibitions local and international. He graduated from the Silpakorn University in 1987, moved to the United States. Returning to Thailand in 1992, he developed his interest in Buddhist philosophy and meditation.
In addition to numerous solo exhibitions in and out of Thailand, such as Beyond…, 100 Tonson Gallery, Bangkok (2008), Sitting ,Bangkok Art Gallery (2005), and Inner/ Outer Gaze at Gallery ART U, Osaka, Japan ( 2002), and he participated in international group exhibitions including Busan Biennale (2008), the World in Painting, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Australia (2008), 50th Venice Biennale , Thai Pavilion, Venice, Italy (2003), and Biennale of Sydney (1993) etc. Along with his own artistic practice, Lertchaiprasert actively deals with activities rooted in his relationships with others and society, by co-founding an experimental community The Land in Chiang Mai with Rirkrit Tiravanija.
