John Jodzio’s works on paper and paintings explore themes of chaos, paranoia, and pessimism in the world in which we live. References to pop culture, drug use, gang violence and urban upheaval are abundant, while layers of humour and sarcasm overshadow any premonition of real harm. Packed with cartoonish energy, sardonic captions and the occasional joke, the comic strips, cartoon characters and other found images form a series of inconclusive narratives and haphazard story lines that seem to stop before they start.
