Jan Håfström

 

Born 1937 in Stockholm, Sweden 

Lives and works in Stockholm 

 

Jan Håfström received in 1962 an MA in philosophy at Lund University, Sweden. In the late 60s he studied at the Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm, Sweden. Throughout his career as an artist, he also as been an active writer and critic. In 2009 in Stockholm he did the show Mörkrets hjärta, a retrospective at Liljevalchs konsthall, and he had also a solo presentation in La Biennale di Venezia, Biennale Arte 53, Venice, Italy, this was the forth time in his career to show in Venice Biennial. He has made shows in many of the mayor art venues in Sweden, such as Moderna Museet, Fägrfabriken, Bild Museet, and Rooseum, and outside of Sweden in Künstlershaus Bethanien, PS1, and Salon de la jeune Sculpture among others. 

 

He is represented in among others the Moderna Museet, and Nationalmuseum, in Stockholm, and in the Astrup Fearnley Museum of Contemporary Art Oslo, and Hovikoddens Kunstsenter, also in Oslo.
