Florin Ciulache

Florin Ciulache archives iconic images in oil paint.  He thinks that you cannot select an iconic image directly from nature so he paints with his TV on. From time to time he selects an screen shot to be encapsulated in his impasto painting. He thinks art didn’t lose the ability to provide an aura but that aura is only the best symbolic way in preserving an image. His art is an ongoing effort to construct a time capsule.
