Florian Heinke

presented by Galerie Anita Beckers

Born 1981 in Frankfurt, Germany

Aggression and attack, anger and insanity, impotence and bravery strike us on viewing Heinke’s paintings. The new series “Riots.” deals with disturbances and Heinke aims to question the authenticity: What happens if exclusion, abuse and neglect suddenly turn into flaming and unbridled hatred? A rebellion, coming from the street, breaking out into the open, where society is most vulnerable. Thus we see in the pictures, the prototypes of anger, the rebellious crowd, overturned cars, the police under fire. Whether attack, madness and courage offer a solution, Heinke’s images leave it open.

The four works on display place the viewer directly in the midst of the riots. They create a panoramic view out of the events. Florian Heinke lives and works in Frankfurt and Vienna.
