 Born in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Dario Escobar lives and works in Guatemala City. He has exhibited widely in galleries, museums and biennials in Latin America, North America and Europe.
Recent exhibitions include: The 10th Havana Biennial (2009); Objects of Value, Miami Art Museum (Nov 21, 2008-Feb 22, 2009); Playoffs, Josee Bienvenu Gallery, New York (2008); Poetics of the Handmade, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA (2007); La Linea Interrumpida, Centro Cultural Metropolitano, Guatemala City, Guatemala (2007); The Hours: Visual Arts of Contemporary Latin America, Dublin Museum, Ireland (2005) and Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, Australia (2007). His work is included in public and corporate collections such as: Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA); Coleccion Daros-Latinamerica, Zurich; Coleccion Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundacion; La Colección JUMEX, Mexico; The Blanton Museum of Art, Austin, TX; The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, North Carolina. His work is currently featured in the Latin American Pavilllion at the 53rd Venice Biennial, June 7- Nov 22, 2009.
