I'm a conceptual artist. Every one of my pieces looks and feels different from the next. The most prevalent themes in my art are personal identity and the relationship to one's body. I am fascinated by this connection because the body sustains life. It is continuously responding and morphing to its particular environment and choices finally eroding as a life gives way to death and regeneration. The glue that binds my work together is humor. It is a psychological conduit that reflects and binds the human spirit. The crux of my art is to explore the absurd, tragic, contradictory nature of living that humor can uniquely portray from multiple yet equal tangents. Because humor has no material preference, as an artist I have the freedom to explore different materials and processes. I produce sculptures, installations, photographs, videos and performances equally. For me it is the emotional "ah hah" that I desire over any formal qualities. I want my viewer to feel before he/she thinks.
