 Born 1974 in Athens, Greece
Angelo Plessas creates simple interactive animated drawings that exist on the internet in their own address that works as their tittle too. These internet pieces often «cover» the real world as material objects such as murals, installations and sculptures.
In 2007 Plessas founded the «Angelo Foundation» a non-profit organisation focused on the promotion of contemporary ideas in issues dealing with culture, the internet and the future.
The International Portrait Gallery is a collection of portraits by Angelo Plessas. These portraits are both found and staged images of objects, environments, landscapes and situations that contain anthropomorphic qualities. The International Portrait Gallery initially takes the form of a website announcement (InternationalPortraitGallery.com) and a flickr account. Following these online manifestations, IPG materializes as a series of installations of gallery walls installed with framed photos, neons, drawings and various anthropomorphic situations.
The ongoing IPG project was established in early 2009, under the auspices of the Angelo Foundation.
