Dutes Miller (1965, Pennsylvania) & Stan Shellabarger (1968, Illinois)

 

Dutes Miller and Stan Shellabarger are a 2007 recipient of a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation award. Recent group shows include “Soft Life” at the Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago, The Suburban section of the “Michelle Grabner: Remain in Light” retrospective at the Ulrich Museum in Wichita, Kansas and the Illinois State University Galleries in Bloomington, Illinois. Their first-ever collaborative show, at Western Exhibitions, Spring 2007, was reviewed in TimeOut Chicago, NewCity and the Chicago Sun-Times. Western Exhibitions presented Miller & Shellabarger in a solo project booth at the NEXT Contemporary Art Fair in Chicago in 2008. Recent performances have been presented at the Hyde Park Art Center, 44/46 Performance Festival in Chicago, the Suburban in Oak Park, Illinois, the Ulrich Museum of Art in Wichita and the Illinois State University galleries. Their work has been written about in Artforum.com and Frieze. Miller & Shellabarger live and work in Chicago.
