John Wesley

John Wesley has had numerous solo museum exhibitions including PS1/MoMA, New York; Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, Cambridge; Haus Lange, Krefeld; Stedlijk Museum, Amsterdam; and Portikus, Frankfurt. There is a permanent installation of his paintings at the Chinati Foundation, Marfa, Texas. Wesley’s work is included in the permanent collections of the Stedlijk Museum, Amsterdam; Museum Ludwig, Cologne; Kunstmuseum, Basel; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Whitney Museum of American Art and Museum of Modern Art, New York, among many others. He has been the subject of numerous articles and has been featured on the covers of Artforum and Art in America, as well as in Parkett #62. He has had recent one-person gallery exhibitions at Gagosian Gallery, London; Tomio Koyama, Tokyo; Daniel Weinberg Gallery, Los Angeles; and Zwirner & Wirth, New York. He was the 2005 recipient of the Skowhegan Medal for Painting and the flagship artist for The Armory Show, 2006. He is represented exclusively by Fredericks & Freiser where he has had seven solo exhibitions.
