Zak Smith

Born 1976 in Syracuse, USA

 

Zak Smith has exhibited at the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburg; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco; and Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, where he was included in the Whitney Biennial 2004. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; and Walker Art Center, Minneapolis. He has been written about in numerous publications and was recently included in Vitamin D: New Perspectives on Drawing, Phaidon Press. His monographs include Zak Smith: Pictures of Girls published by D.A.P. in 2005 and Zak Smith: Gravity’s Rainbow Illustrated: One Picture for Every Page published by Tin House Press in 2007.
