 Born 1964 in Nova Iguaçu, Brazil
Jarbas Lopes’ work is almost impossible to describe in a few lines. Amongst them are the bikes covered with braided hard straw material and the transformed dog food plastic bags. In 2004 presented his works during an individual show at A Gentil Carioca. He also created the series with remainings of banners and all the propaganda trash left by polititians after election campaigns.
The artist was recently selected for The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation Fellowship Program, 2005.
Takes part of the XXVII São Paulo Biennial, 2006, Parque do Ibirapuera, São Paulo.His works being at the following collections:
