Voges + Partner Galerie

Presents: Kurt Hoffmann, Martin Liebscher, Rainer Neumeier, Manfred Peckl, Betsabée Romero, Winter/Hörbelt

Inventio vs. Imitatio were always the decisive aspects in the build–up of the gallery program. Since 1992, when Ulrich Voges founded his first gallery it was the search for the new and surprising to the eye in any media, which lead to the present results. The main focus was put on the promotion and long-term collaboration with artists of the own generation. Especially the close link to the local Staedel Art-School resulted in lasting cooperation with artists like Winter/Hoerbelt, Martin Liebscher, Manfred Peckl, Rainer Neumeier or most recently Adrian Williams, who all are now operating on a wide international platform. At this time other young artists like Tamara Grcic, Piotr Uklanski and Bernhard Martin were given first solo show in the gallery. From the start the gallery produced constantly catalogues and supported large scale museum productions (e.g. Piotr Uklanskis “Dancefloor” for Museum Weserburg or Winter/Hörbelts “Crate House” for the 48th Biennale of Venice among others). Over all the years it has been another concern to feature the vibrant aspects of the work by more mature artists, who had significant bearings on movements of younger artist generations. These exhibitions included solo shows with Stuart Brisley (GB), Adrian Piper (USA), Marilyn Minter (USA) and an extensive project with Timm Ulrichs (D). New collaborations with Betsabeé Romero, Felix Gmelin, Monique van Genderen and Maximo Gonzalez taking the gallery profile to yet another level towards further international acknowledgement.
