STORE opened in 2003 and exhibits artists working with a conceptual approach, including Ryan Gander, Bedwyr Williams and Chris Evans. Over three years the gallery was transformed into a museum of puzzles (Gander), a dysfunctional snooker hall (Williams) and a seminar-room for artists seeking tutorials (Evans).
In September 2006 STORE moved to larger premises and the gallery expanded to 11 international artists, including Simon Evans and Mario Garcia Torres. We debuted at Art Basel Miami Beach 2006 and will debut at The Armory Show.
Our former space, now Associates, is programmed by Ryan Gander and supported by a number of patrons and STORE. This support enables Associates to give the artists 100% of sales.
STORE is committed to continuing ambitious external projects such as Ryan Gander’s ‘Cinema Verso’, Whitechapel Library October 2006, by working towards a sculpture park by Chris Evans due to open in Estonia in 2007-8.
