Irena Popiashvili and Marisa Newman started Newman Popiashvili Gallery as Suite 106, a project space in the hotel room in December of 2001.
The gallery has moved to it s current location in Chelsea in October of 2005. Newman Popiashvili Gallery's program has evolved since 2002 and developed into a concise group of international artists working in various media.
