Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd., a limited liability company founded by Takashi Murakami in 2001, is the evolved version of the Hiropon factory founded in 1996. Its goals as an enterprise include the production and promotion of artwork, the management and support of young artists, general management of events and projects coordinated by Takashi Murakami, and the production and promotion of Kaikai Kiki artist-related merchandise. With studios and offices in Saitama/Tokyo, Japan and Long Island City, New York, Kaikai Kiki employs approximately 35 employees in Japan and 20 employees in Long Island City. In addition to Murakami, Kaikai Kiki works with a select group of younger artists. By facilitating agreements with world-class galleries, organizing and implementing exhibitions and projects, handling PR and bio records, and offering Murakami’s personal feedback on work in progress, Kaikai Kiki is dedicated to the growth and success of these emerging artists.
